Senior Center Vans

We have vans that take members to and from the Senior Center. Pickup times in the morning are generally between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. depending on where the member lives. Vans depart the Center in the afternoon at 1:30 p.m.

Our vans serve residents of Buena Vista, Glasgow, Natural Bridge, Natural Bridge Station on Tuesday and Friday.

There is no daily charge for this service, but donations are encouraged. All donations for transportation further support this service

Rockbridge Area Transportation System (RATS)

The Senior Center has a contract with RATS to provide transportation for residents of the City of Lexington to and from the Center on Tuesday and Friday. Pickup times are generally between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., and RATS riders leave the Center at 1:30 p.m.

There is a small, sliding-scale fee for this service; the remaining cost is subsidized through United Way of Rockbridge funding.

Eligibility

Prior to receiving transportation services, individuals must complete all paperwork.
 

Maury Express

Maury Express offers a fixed route transportation service to the citizens of Lexington, Buena Vista, and certain areas of Rockbridge County. The service operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Maury Express stops at the Senior Center at 25 minutes before the hour.

A fare of fifty cents per trip is charged and must be paid when boarding the bus. Exact change is required. Ride tokens may be purchased for fifty cents each at the Senior Center.
