Personal Care Services
What are Personal Care Services?
Personal Care Services provide up to six hours of in-home support a week for individuals who require with assistance with bathing, grooming, and dressing.
Additional help such as light housekeeping or meal preparation may be available based on the individual’s need.
Services are provided by an aide from a contracted, licensed home health agency.
Who may receive Personal Care Services?
Older adults who:
- Are 60 years and older.
- Have a primary caregiver with self-reported caregiving related stress.
- Require assistance with a bath, personal hygiene, and other activities of daily living.
- Are able to safely remain at home with Personal Care as a support service.
How much does Personal Care cost?
Valley Program for Aging Services (VPAS) subsidizes a portion of the hourly cost to receive Personal Care Services. The cost per hour is based on a sliding fee scale.
